Witnessed by the President and the Prime Minister- Serbias Novi Sad-Ruma Project Held Commencement Ceremony
On May 1, the construction commencement ceremony of the Novi Sad-Ruma Expressway Project undertaken by CRBC was held. Serbian President Vu?i?, Prime Minister Brnabi?, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Momirovic, Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Chen Bo, Chinese Business Counsellor in Serbia Liu Kai, and Deputy General Manager of CRBC and General Manager of Central and Eastern Europe Regional Center Zhang Xiaoyuan, attended the ceremony.
In his speech, Vu?i? thanked the Chinese government for its long-term support to infrastructure construction in Serbia. He noted that the construction of the Novi Sad-Ruma Expressway Project will strengthen regional connectivity, facilitate travel for residents, promote the flow of goods and enhance regional development. And the Serbian government is increasing investment in infrastructure construction to boost economic development and create a better future for the country and its people.
Chen Bo said that under the epidemic situation, the construction of the Novi Sad-Ruma Expressway Project has fully demonstrated the vitality of China-Serbia cooperation. CRBC has long maintained successful cooperation with its Serbian partners, demonstrating the quality, technology and efficiency of a Chinese enterprise and winning the trust of the Serbian side. It is believed that the two sides will work together to complete the project construction with high quality.
Zhang Xiaoyuan introduced the details of the Project. He said that the Company is confident and determined to complete the Project on time, with quality and quantity guaranteed, so as to benefit the local people as soon as possible.
The Novi Sad-Ruma Expressway Project will link the northern and western regions of Serbia with a total length of about 47.7 km, including a super bridge over the Danube River and two tunnels. The Fruska tunnel is designed to be 3.5 kilometers long and will be the longest tunnel in Serbia when completed.
